Shawna has been making pottery since 2018 when she took a workshop and was immediately enamoured by the possibilities of manipulating clay. She enjoys the many creative and technical steps that it takes to turn a lump of wet clay into something beautiful and useful.

Shawna believes that pottery is functional art that can enhance your day and your home. The Blaqua Collection, black stoneware enhanced with a blue-green glaze and textures, was created for her own home and is only available at Handworks Gallery. Note that the clay manufacturer recommends not using this dark clay in microwave ware due to excessive heating.
