Francine Martin lives amidst the rolling hills of the picturesque region of Saint-Joseph a small community in northwestern New Brunswick. Francine was born with an innate creative sensibility. Her creative expression has continued from the crayon to the paintbrush. Even though she chose to pursue a teaching career in Special Education, she continued to build on her artistic skills by studying the fine arts. Since retiring from her work as an educator, Francine has been building a solid career as a painter. Her work has been seen in solo and group exhibitions and through gallery representation. Choosing still life and landscape subject matter, the language and nuances of colour are foremost in her work. Her paintings are an exploration and love affair with oil paint where she allow herself to go beyond a faithful rendering to a place where colour is sensed and woven into the surfaces.
