By chance, in 2011 while on holidays (shortly after having retired) I was introduced to the craft of making and turning segmented bowls. Achieving that precision required to make each segment was a challenge that captured me. Developing a bowl using the various woods, colours and shapes is truly relaxing to me. Sometimes I start with a plan in mind, but the wood sends me on a different path. The use of exotic and native wood results in unique bowls, which leaves me with a great feeling of accomplishment, and time spent in my woodshop flies by.

Some of my bowls are made with wood that I have harvested and processed myself. My bowls are my creations and do not use commercial patterns or manufactured pieces.

In 2018, I became a Juried Member of Craft NB.

My wife, Susan, and I have been married since 1973. We have two children and five grandchildren. I retired in 2010 after having worked as a licensed mechanic for the Department of Transportation for 25 years. I have always lived in rural areas around the Kennebecasis Valley. Currently I live on a small lake on the Kingston Peninsula. Susan and I come from large families and socializing with them and our own family keeps us busy. I enjoy travelling and the outdoors. I keep very busy and, like a lot of retired people, I have no idea how I found time to work.
